ESF-2 Information

Posted on
January 28, 2021

As the due date for ESF-2 bonus points is approaching on February 7, we wanted to make sure you are able to take full advantage of the unique opportunity this year for your ESF-2s. As the 2021 event is "virtual", we encourage teams to use this year's ESF-2 as a way to explore new ideas, components and systems. For example, you might explore traction control, vehicle dynamics, updating PCBs, new accumulator ideas, and improvements to AMS such  as state of charge estimation, range prediction etc. We also encourage you to consider implementing telemetry using the McLaren Atlas software to support your vehicle. Our review team will provide feedback and guidance on these "virtual innovation" ideas which can help you in your 2022 vehicle development plans.

If you will be reusing your 2020 ESF-2 for 2021, please do the following:

  • Download your team's REVIEWED 2020 ESF-2 from last year's Google Doc (do not delete the comments or revisions from last year)
  • Save as a WORD document (We will NOT accept Google Doc submissions)
  • If you have any NEW sections that you are adding to your 2021 ESF-2, please mark "NEW" in the section title.
  • Upload the WORD document to the Document Upload system

If you do not have access to the Google Doc from 2020, please send me an email with the person's name and email address who needs to be granted access.

ESF-2s AND Optimal Hybrid Clean Sheets needs to be submitted as WORD documents, and please submit that through our upload system.

Please submit your questions through the Ticket System!
