Formula Hybrid Competition Rules and Scoring
Rules

Cal Poly Racing undergoes the tilt test at the 5th annual Formula Hybrid International Competition.
Unlike Formula SAE, Hybrid teams are not required to build a new chassis every year. Retrofitting pre-existing Formula SAE chassis is permitted.
Only fuel-electric hybrids are permitted. Flywheel energy accumulators are not allowed.
Other differences in the rules between Formula Hybrid and Formula SAE are:
- The IC engine can displace no more than 250cc (310cc for Diesels) with no inlet restrictor.
- Drive-by-wire is permitted.
- The "no hybrid" rule has been replaced by a "hybrid only" rule.
Entries are limited to student teams from colleges and universities.
