 Post subject: fuses for multiple parallel strings

In rules section 4.4 : " If multiple parallel strings of batteries or capacitors are used then each string must be individually
fuesd."


if we use the connection like below fig:
does it mean we need 4x6 fuses?

well, with that set up if your (4x)6 fuses are rated at say... 10 amps. Does that mean the entire battery pack is fused at 60 amps? I'm just gonna go ahead and guess that you got 72x4 = 288V on that system so at least you won't need very many amps to get massive power!

well, the committee have confirmed that we do need 4 x 6 fuses with this connection, we are not using 288V, total voltage in our car is 74V.

yeah i saw on the florida website you got some li-polymer set up going on. looks like it'll be a pretty hot ride!
