Hello,

I was wondering for the NC State Formula Hybrid car if I may supplement the drain plug requirement at the lowest point of the tank with our existing fuel line leaving the fuel tank by installing a quick release adapter made by Russell Performance. The Male end on the tank does not have a valve on it so as to allow gasoline to flow out from the lowest point on our tank. However, the Female connection on -6 AN fuel line has a valve to prevent gasoline from leaving the carburetors. The exit line is located on the side of the tank in a half cylinder extension at the lowest point on the side of the tank.

This is difficult to judge without actually seeing the vehicle, but there is no reason a quick-release can't be used as the drain fitting. The concern would be one of mechanical integrity and susceptibility to damage or breakage, such as might happen if the car went over a traffic cone.

We may require that the fitting be safety-wired so that it could not come off accidentally.
