I have already submitted a rules inquiry but I wanted to also post this here just in case any other teams had run into this issue last year. Currently on the University of Idaho vehicle we have the electric motor coupled pre-transmission after the ICE clutch. If the transmission is in neutral and the engine is above our centrifugal clutches engagement RPM our pulley assembly attaching our electric motor will spin but if the engine is only idling (below the engagement RPM) then it will not spin. The only time that I can think of that the vehicle would be in neutral and running the ICE above the engagement RPM would be during sound testing. So the question is do we still need to implement finger guards?

Edit: Just got a response from the rules committee, and the answer was with our current setup we are required to have them.
